Alex Hamilton creates his art in a 200m2 studio in an industrial building in Woodstock neighboured by bakers, juice makers, designers, producers and woodworkers. His space is part-factory, part-secondhand store filled with kitsch collectables, gimcracks, nostalgia, books, antiques and other treasures that perfectly reflect his obsessive personality. I do not like throwing away. I know that if I keep something, it will become relevant again - he says. Hamilton does not discriminate with his hoarding and some of the more obscure collections include paper dolls, winkies (holograph postcards) rolling pins and wall vases. When I focus on something, I can not stop.
